Chucking bristles are chosen for their natural characteristics; they wet much easier than nylon filaments and have a greater holding capacity for water, resulting in a noticeable reduction of splatter occurring.
Prophy Nylon Brushes
These filaments are made from nylon which ensure consistent firmness of tuft and are completely free of animal derived products. They are available in soft, medium and hard and are equally as firm as conventional toothbrushes.
Prophy Rubber Cups
The rubber is latex-free, autoclavable silicone rubber which unlike natural rubber, is much more resilient giving the opportunity to be autoclaved before and after use with it not disintegrating under normal usage. The silicone rubber massively reduces patient discomfort due to its capacity to dissipate heat much more easily. The rubber cup has been designed with a large skirt that completely covers the handpiece armature thus preventing oral fluids or polishing grit from entering the handpiece resulting in expensive damage.
